Food EVERYWHERE

It is not until I was stricken with what seems to be neverending nausea that I noticed how pervasive food is. Its images and smells are inescapable.

I almost throw up every time I go to the grocery store, because the smell of fried chicken is pumped strategically through the store. I thought I was kidding about this until my gag reflex allowed me to pay closer attention. At the Wal-Mart neighborhood market, the smell of fried chicken is actually stronger just outside the store than it is right next to the chicken. I'm guessing it's supposed to draw you into the store with the thought of "hey, man, buy some chicken". To me, all it says is "I hope you have a mop and bucket pretty close to the entrance".

Commercials are also bad -- I have to turn my head away from the TV during commercial breaks because I never know when I'm going to be hit with the image of a fatty hamburger with visible grease bubbles on it, or some nasty ass sandwich from Arby's.

If we have to stick with this food theme, why aren't there more commercials for Cheerio's, PB and J, Applesauce, and Popsicles? Food that has no aroma and more grams of fiber than grams of fat....

I could easily see myself becoming a vegetarian. I haven't eaten any meat in almost a week, and I was really forcing myself to eat that.

Good day.
